Raised Bed Planner
Combine transparent soil-volume and plant-capacity estimates for a rectangular raised bed plan.
How the estimate works
Volume and spacing are calculated independently, then shown together without collapsing either result.
Worked example
An 8-by-4-foot bed filled 12 inches deep holds 32 cubic feet and 32 plants at 12-inch grid spacing.
Assumptions
- The planting footprint matches the bed length and width entered for volume.
Limitations
- Crop habit, supports, paths, soil settling, and mixed plantings require judgment beyond the estimate.
