How the estimate works

Raw volume = length × width × depth × bed count.

Purchase volume adds the selected extra percentage; bags round up.

Worked example

One 8-by-4-foot bed filled 12 inches deep needs 32 cubic feet before any extra allowance.

Assumptions

  • Dimensions describe a rectangular filled volume.

Limitations

  • Settling, compaction, irregular shapes, and existing soil change real purchase needs.
